Boy MonsterI
I have not posted much lately, but that's ok because no one reads my blog anyway. Ha ha. But I just received a Wacom Intuos3 drawing tablet from the mailman today and got to draw something directly on my computer. No pencil ink eraser, just me and photoshop. Made me figure that not posting art I made and like on the computer is very lazy. No scanning to do. Just save the file for web and upload it. So here it is. A creepy baby sketch for my comic book thats coming, Boy Monster.

I read it, no worries :P
That's cool.. I wish I had a graphics tablet thing :( was it expensive?
i read your blog. i think that should count. I'm a big fan. I check it every day, no matter how creepy and stalker that is.
you're right about the expensive part. The Intuos3 6x11 cost $350 with shipping from Amazon.com There smaller versions of the intuos3 (the 4x6 costs about $250, and the 6x8 is around $300). Intuos being the standard for professional designers (who likely size up to at least the 9x11 tablet) I'm working on a 24inch wide screen monitor and with the proper tracking settings I havn't run into any size limitations with the 6x11 tablet.
There are less expensive models of the same Wacom tablet technology. Perhaps the most popular are the bamboo fun tablets, which come in a small (about 4x6) and medium (about 6x8). The Bamboo Fun medium size costs $200. According to the technical specifications, the Bamboo Fun has fewer levels of pressure sensitivity than the intuos3, but seing as I have not test driven the bamboo fun I don't know how this technical difference relates to the tablet's performance.
Anyhow, the bottom line I've learned in researching these graphics tablets is to stick with the Wacom brand. Because of copyright or some other legal protections they have exclusive use of the pen-tracking technology used in their devices and attempts by third party companies to replicate the feel and precision of a wacom device have failed.
Therefore you pretty much have to bite the bullet and pay the higher price for superior hardware that no one else has.
that was the nerdiest post i've ever seen
